May 21st was Dentistry With TLC’s fourth annual Dentistry With A Heart Day. Each year on this special day the doctors and staff volunteer their time, expertise, and resources to provide free cleanings, fillings, and extractions. When Dr. Smith is asked why she would provide over $100,000.00 worth of dentistry at no cost to 470 people over the past four years, she says, “When I was a kid my dad was a pastor. Even though my family didn’t have much money, my parents taught me to always look for ways to help others. When I was a kid on Thanksgiving we served the homeless, at Christmas we adopted a family, and when I was in high school, we distributed food the needy every Saturday morning. Three years ago, my husband and I decided we wanted to create an annual event at Dentistry With TLC to help people in need of dentistry. When we made that decision, “Dentistry With a Heart Day” was born.”
