Meet Team TLC
"My childhood dentist served as a positive example of the kind of professional I wanted to be. His love for people and his work served as the encouragement I needed to pursue dentistry in college. Ten years later, I know that dentistry is the sum of my interests, gifts and abilities.
"As a dentist, I'm able to improve appearance, self-esteem and overall health for my patients. I also have a unique opportunity to change people's perceptions of dentistry. With kindness, respect and good communication – along with gentle treatment techniques - I can help make dental care a positive experience for you.
"I also believe in educating and empowering my patients. Taking charge of your dental health can improve your quality of life, for the rest of your life. Helping you in this way is what makes dentistry so meaningful to me. There is no other profession of which I would rather be a member."

“I believe that personal attention, individualized care to address your specific needs, and professional excellence are very valuable in any area of healthcare. At Dentistry With TLC, I make this my priority and look forward to welcoming you to our dental family.”
“The face of dentistry is rapidly changing, and I know that with advancements in techniques, patient education and awareness, an emphasis on prevention, open communication, and kindness, I can help make your dental care comfortable while providing you with the highest quality of care.”
“Dentistry is unlike any other profession because it provides the opportunity to improve the dental health and overall health of my patients while at the same time, build confidence and self-esteem as we work together to create and maintain a beautiful, healthy smile. Perhaps, even more importantly, I enjoy the meaningful relationships I form with the patients and families that I care for and am honored to be their family dentist.”

Following this, he attended the Southern Illinois School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in June of 2007. During his time there Dr. Parker treated patients of all ages while volunteering his time to visit nursing homes as well as treating children during the “Give Kids a Smile” program.
Dr. Parker enjoys spending time with his family and friends. When he is not practicing, Dr Parker enjoys playing golf, traveling, painting and sketching. Dr. Parker’s favorite pastime continues to be playing the guitar. He has played in various settings and many different styles. Dr. Parker has also played in several concerts with his local church’s band and has played with the church’s worship group.
“While growing up, I was surrounded by friends and family who were afraid of the dentist. Their horror stories inspired me to follow the profession and make a place where people could feel comfortable while being treated. It is extremely important to me that my patients are calm and comfortable whenever they visit me. I am thrilled to be able to practice at an office like Dentistry with TLC, where these concerns are shared.”
Our staff is the most highly trained in the field. Knowing basic dental skills is not good enough at Dentistry with TLC. For the comfort and health of our patients we require the best from our staff. Staff members that do not perform up to Team TLC standards are now working at other dental offices in our area.
All of our chair side assistants have demonstrated mastery of the following skills by earning 100 percent on written and practical testing in each of these areas; Zoom 2 whitening, composite fillings, CEREC design, lab work, topical placement, Invisalign, digital x-rays, intra oral photos, digital photos, CAESEY educational system, Lumineers, bleaching tray fabrication, denture hard relines, patient education, sedation assistance, denture and partial soft relines, temporary crown fabrication, impression making, implant assisting and paperwork. Not only are TLC assistants highly trained, they have been chosen to be a part of Team TLC because of their exceptional concern for the comfort of our patients.
All of our office staff members have demonstrated mastery of patient relationships both in the office and over the phone. These Team TLC members have completed extensive audio and video training of proper business techniques. Staff members that answer the phone are regularly tested on their friendliness and helpfulness towards patients. At Dentistry with TLC you will be greeted with a smile when you come into the office, and when you call on the phone.

Most satisfying aspect of your job: “Having a successful business that is based on helping people. Having a wonderful staff to work with and direct.”
Funniest incident at TLC: “We have a drawer that I keep chocolate in for the staff to snack on during breaks. One time I opened a big bag of chocolate candy bars and dumped it in the empty drawer and all the assistants within ear-shot came running like hogs to the hog trough. I say that affectionately, of course.”
Most challenging aspect of your job: “Dealing with patients who sometimes can’t afford treatment and trying to find a way to help them.”
Something you wish people knew about Dentistry with TLC: “Out of 22 employees only 5 are men. And Dr. Smith’s curls are not natural.”
Advice you would give a person looking for a dentist: “Dentists are not commodities. Some dentists are more talented than others. You want to find the most talented. When dealing with dentistry you get what you pay for. Don’t let price be your only guiding factor.”
What did you think of Dentistry with a Heart Day?: “We have the greatest employees in the world. Everyone was on board when we presented the idea of Dentistry with a Heart Day to our team and asked them if they would donate their time and skills to help our community. A couple people agreed to volunteer even though August 10th was their birthday! I know I am blessed to work with such a wonderful group of talented and caring professionals. Dentistry with a Heart Day probably touched my heart more than anyone we were able to help. The true success of the day was watching God work in the lives of our patients, volunteers and us while meeting the needs of people.”
